What We Do

To create educational landscapes, we offer:

  • Garden Design
  • Educational Program Development
  • Garden Installation
  • Garden and Landscape Maintenance

Design

We collaborate with you to identify the needs and goals of your educational space, and strategize a garden education design, for the short and long term.

This design may result in curriculum development, landscape installation, a volunteer workday, or all of the above.

We seek over time to:

  • identify and communicate desired goals
  • observe space use, and curriculum
  • develop and implement ideas
  • observe, reflect and refine future implementation

Educational Program Development

We connect the school or institution to one of our experienced Garden Educators, who works with you to create a customized educational approach to meet your goals.

Our educational philosophy is centered around participatory, project-based learning that teaches:

  • Eco-literacy: learning about and caring for our environment
  • Interdisciplinary learning: incorporating the garden as a learning tool in different disciplines including the arts, reading and writing, social sciences, and STEM
  • Gardening: building skills of students, teachers, and staff to plant and tend a productive garden

Garden Installation

We build custom gardens designed to meet the educational goals of your school or institution.

We specialize in:

  • annual vegetable gardens,
  • edible perennial plantings (fruits, berries, and herbs)
  • native pollinator plant habitat gardens to attract insects and birds,
  • and interactive natural play spaces.

Maintenance

We provide skilled gardeners that coordinate ongoing land care work tailored to your site.

We specialize in chemical-free and low impact maintenance of spaces so they are healthy and joyful spaces for students, teachers, and wildlife to grow.
